Exciting News – New Play Park Equipment Is Coming To East Cottingwith!
Installation of new play park equipment commenced 6th January at East Cottingwith Play Area. This is possible due to grants from the National Lottery and East Riding’s Do It For East Yorkshire and also generous donations from our local community, including the FEast Committee and Charity Cafe – we thank you all for your support.
Thanks to everyone who gave views to help shape the design and accessibility needs – the new equipment includes a roundabout, swings, nest swing, activity trail, slide and a much requested football goal area with basket ball hoop.
The park will be closed for a short period from 5th January to enable PlayScheme of Elvington to install the equipment and will reopen in early February.

Defibrillator Training – Storwood Shoot Lodge 6pm 28th August 2025

We are delighted to confirm that a new defibrillator has been installed at Storwood Shoot Lodge to provide another set of life saving equipment in the parish in addition to the defibrillator at the bus stop in East Cottingwith.

Yorkshire Air Ambulance team will be providing familiarisation training to use a defibrillator at Storwood Shoot Lodge at 6pm on 28th August 2025. The session will last around an hour and everyone is welcome to attend, we never know when we will need these skills.

EAST COTTINGWITH PARISH COUNCIL

VACANCY FOR A COUNCILLOR

  1. There is a vacancy on the above Council caused by the untimely death of Cllr David Griffith
  2. A by-election to fill the vacancy will be held if by Monday 4th August  10 electors for the Parish Council give notice in writing to the Chief Executive of the
    East Riding of Yorkshire Council at County Hall, Beverley, East Riding of Yorkshire, HU17 9BA claiming such an election.
  3. If no such notice is given the Parish Council will fill the vacancy by co-option.

Any written requests calling for an election to fill the vacancy will be available for public inspection and copying under Section 228(5) of the Local Government Act 1972…
